You are required to register and complete the ECM FLASH form before Painless will program your ECM.  Your ECM profile will be stored on our systems, so please save your login information for future reference. We do not ask for credit card information when filling out the form. If you wish to pay by credit card you can send it with your ECM. We do not store credit card information on our systems. We will provide a printable form that can be sent to Painless Performance along with your ECM for programming.  Other forms of acceptable payment include check and money order, made payable to Painless Performance.

Painless will provide the ECM FLASH for FREE if you purchased a qualifying Painless part number. You must provide proof of purchase dated on or after April 8, 2008 for one of the following Painless Part Numbers in order to qualify for the FREE ECM FLASH. You are also required to pay for shipping to and from Painless Performance.  Please cut the UPC code panel from the product box and send it in with the dated proof of purchase along with the ECM.

NOTE: GM used these applicable ECM's in both V8 and V6 vehicles. If you send Painless an ECM from a V6 vehicle we will notify you of your two choices to pay $100 to have it converted to a V8 ECM or to send us a different ECM already calibrated for a V8 engine.  If your purchase does not qualify for the free ECM flash you can have the flash done at a reasonable rate. NOTE: Even though you may or may not qualify for the FREE ECM FLASH your ECM may require a $100 License Fee. Click here to view the images of the two ECM's.  ECM 1 (Gen IV engine controllers) requires a one time $100 License Fee.  ECM 2 (GEN III engine controllers) do not require a license fee.
